The beauty of the Ford F-150 is you can customize it and have a truck for every type of use. If you're looking for off-road adventure, there's an F-150 for you. If you need a pickup that excels as a work truck, the tough and dependable F-150 is ready for whatever job you throw at it. The folks at Ford dealer MS report the 2018 Ford F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States for more than 30 years.

Customers of the MS Ford dealer tell us they like the F-150's new standard 3.3-liter V6 engine, which replaces last year's 3.5-liter V6. The improved turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8 engines are now more powerful, and all the F-150's powerplants now get fuel-saving auto stop-start. There's updated styling in the front and rear, and the forward collision mitigation system gets revised.

There are six trim levels on offer: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited. In addition, there's a high-performance Raptor version that we aren't reviewing here. The F-150 is available in Regular Cab, SuperCab and SuperCrew configurations, and with 5.5 feet, 6.5 feet and 8 feet cargo bed lengths.

There's also a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 block that's good for 325 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to a ten-speed automatic gearbox. The Platinum and King Ranch get a standard 5.0-liter V8 that develops 395 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to the ten-speed automatic. Finally, there's a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 that comes in two variants. The first makes 375 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, while the second cranks out an incredible 450 hp and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. This block is also paired with the ten-speed automatic transmission.

Other trailer-related options include a trailer brake controller, blind spot information system with trailer coverage, and a smart trailer tow connector.
